A person employed by the village, whether on a full time or part time basis or pursuant to a contract, whose duties are subject to the direction and control of an employer with regard to the material details of how the work is to be performed, but does not include an independent contractor.
EMPLOYEES Whenever reference is made in this Code to the Village employee by title only, this shall be construed as though followed by the words “of the Village of Midlothian”.
Full time employees shall work a yearly average of thirty five (35) hours per week. All employees who work less shall be considered part time employees. Short term employee is an employee who is employed for less that two (2) consecutive calendar quarters during a calendar year and who does not have a reasonable assurance that he or she will be rehired by the Village for the same service in a subsequent calendar year.
