4-3-1 Permit To Be Obtained

It shall be unlawful to commence the erection, construction, any alteration, repair, removal, demolition of any building or excavation for any building or structure, or leveling or grading of any land, or to occupy any building or a portion of a street or alley before the permit for such work or occupancy has been obtained from the department of buildings.  (Ord. 1019, 12-9-1981)

4-4-2 NONCONFORMING BUILDING OR STRUCTURE

(A)    Definition.  An existing building or structure or part or appurtenance thereof not in conformance with the Building Code or other ordinances of the Village.

(B)    Repair.  Requires a written application and permit.  Repairs may be limited by the Building Committee unless the building or nonconforming part thereof is made to conform with the Building Code.

(C)    Moving or Altering.  Non nonconforming building shall be moved or altered unless it be made to conform with Building Code (12-12-62)
